It may be Monday, but for those of us at Axe Factory Press, it’s nothing a cup of black coffee can’t fix. Our past two weeks have been busy, and there is plenty more to be done. We have had an influx of readers and followers of our website, Facebook, and Tumblr; thank you all for your support and kind words. We’ve been reading submissions as they roll in, and we can only encourage you all to keep them coming!
Though we take submissions on a rolling basis, I’d like to make you all aware of the time frame with which we work. In order to be considered for publication in a specific issue, we should receive your issue about three weeks before its publication date. We’ll publish reminders on our website and social media. In order to be considered for publication in our inaugural issue—the publication date for which is June 21—please have submissions in by June 1. Work submitted after this date will still be considered for future issues.
With plenty of submissions to read & gardening to be done, there's a busy spring ahead.
While many literary magazines charge small submission fees like ours, we would like to make it clear that these fees go toward paying author honorariums, and basic upkeep of our site and submissions managers. Presently, the dedicated staff of The Axe Factory work on a volunteer basis. We ask that contributors pay this fee in order to help us provide the best visibility and platform for their work.
I would like to thank you again for your support as readers and contributors. A sense of community is important to us at Axe Factory Press. We want you to know what kind of people we are and how we handle your work. Please feel free to leave comments and questions on our website, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
